CREATIVE DANCE
Creative Dance
Ages 3 – 4
This class will introduce young children to the world of dance. Great for young girls and boys who love to dance around the house, this class is geared to having fun while subtlety teaching the children the beginnings of proper technique! Students will enjoy a magical time of games and exercises designed to introduce key dance concepts such as rhythm, musicality, posture, stretching, acting and imagination. The class will incorporate ballet moves such as pointing the feet, port de bras, plies, gallops, skips and jumps. Our experienced Creative Dance Teacher, Miss Alexis, is well loved by children and parents and we are pleased to teaching three separate Creative Dance classes on a weekly basis!

FLAMENCO
Flamenco I
Ages 5 – 6
Introduction into the world of Flamenco. You get to know the different steps (footwork), hand and arm movements. Students will play with rhythm through clapping and footwork, and will learn a dance.
Flamenco IA
Ages 16+, Adult
This beginner flamenco class is open to dancers with little or no flamenco experience. Students will learn traditional flamenco arm, hand and body movements and be introduced to the footwork. Palmas (clapping) will be introduced to aid with the Flamenco rhythms. A dance choreography will also be learned.
Flamenco IIA
Ages 16+, Adult
At least two years of flamenco background is required for this class. Students will be introduced to more challenging bodywork, arm and hand movement. More complex footwork and rhythm structure will welcome you in this class. Contratiempos will be practiced and a choreography will be learned.
Flamenco Troupe
Ages 16+, Adult
This class is suited to people who would like to perform as Flamenco dancers. The class will consist of a brief warm-up and class work followed by choreography.
On principle, everybody is welcome, independent of his/her level of Flamenco (a basic knowledge is required though, as it is not a beginners class). The people with a lower level will start as an apprentice and when ready, advance to a full Flamenco Troupe member. Ask your flamenco teacher or the Mission Dance Centre office for more information if you have questions about participating in the Flamenco Troupe.
PRIVATE CLASSES / PERSONAL COACHING
You will get the most out of it with a one to one session (private class). Ask all the questions that are bugging you, have a profound look at what is bothering you and receive your own personal coaching. For beginner to advanced dancers in all styles as well as gymnasts and figure skaters. Please do contact us for more information.
